Lorrinda turned around, and then looked toward Elsa, and then Mutt. She then sighed oh boy, well the fuel is really going to be added to the fire now.She thought. She then tried to avoid eye contact with the professer but she seemed like a gargoyle. The type that didn't seem to stop starting at you.

MUTT WILLIAMS ' You gotta problem with me? Good. [ » ] He felt the tension, an awkward silence brushing over them. Mutt didn't enjoy talking to her, but if she could help finding his father it was worth trying to make friends. Nice day, isn't it? This is Lorrinda. I thought you took Mondays off? He said and slid his hands into the pockets of his leather jacket.

Lorrinda did a polite smile toward her.And did the same with her hands cause it was a little chilly in the musuem. That was the thing with some musuem they needed to keep cool cause some artifacts sake.

ELSA SCHNEIDER ' [ » ] Folding her arms across her chest, Elsa looked Lorrinda up and down. Her eyes had a glare in them that could send the world into flames. Mutt never did make eye contact with her, he tried to avoid that as much as he could. Hmm, not a complete loss I suppose. She muttered under her breath and returned her focus to Mutt. Elsa was very well aware that he spent his evenings here on most days, yet she felt like knowing more than she did. Elsa was the type of person that dug deeper and deeper until she discovered what she wanted to know. Secrets can be impossible to keep from her, it seemed like she was bloodhound sniffing the trail for an escaped prisoner. I know I usually choose to spend Mondays to myself, yet something has grabbed my intrest today. Perhaps it will do the same with you. She reached into her ivory colored jacket and unfolded a crumbled up letter. It had stamps on it from around the world, China, Germany, and Peru just to name a few. Although I have yet to do tests on it, I am almost positive it was written by your father. It has the same fingerprint on the back of the letter and the same ink used in the previous letters.

MUTT WILLIAMS ' You gotta problem with me? Good. [ » ] Mutt sighed as Elsa handed him the letter. That's his handwritting alright. Telling by all these stamps it could have been sent from anywhere. This isn't a fake, it's got his signature at the bottom. Who gave you this? He said, he wondered why his father would be sending her letters. His mother said something along the lines of that if she was kidnapped she'd want to send letters to just about everyone until someone responded to her. He showed the letter to Lorrinda, perhaps she knew a little something about reading letters written in code.A few weeks ago my dad went missing, we think he may have written this.

She nodded and then looked at the symbols. Then her eyes wided she then took out a necklace in her backpack. One of the symbols that looked like a heron was on it."Mutt look at this."She said holding the symbol from the paper and her necklace.

MUTT WILLIAMS ' You gotta problem with me? Good. [ » ] Mutt studied the necklace and then the marking on the paper, they were the exact match! Impossible... Mutt said under his breath, knowing the odds of this happening were nearly slim to none. His father had sent him a picture of a necklace which had a crane like bird marked upon it. Mutt didn't pay much attention to it, but he knew Elsa had a picture of it somewhere in the musuem. Dr. Schneider, does this look familiar to you?

ELSA SCHNEIDER ' [ » ] Elsa took back the letter and motioned for Mutt and Lorrinda to follow her. She knew where every object was located in this musuem, she was the one person most of the tour guides asked for directions when they needed to navigate around the large building. A few flights of stairs and many minutes later they were face to face with a large office. Elsa reached for the brass key that unlocked her office and carefully unlocked the large door. Making sure no one was watching her, she carefully opened the door to prevent it from creeking. Hurry, come in. She softly pushed two of them in and silently shut the door. Elsa unlocked a large wooden drawer, shuffling through a large collection of papers, notes and photographs until she had the one she needed. She grabbed the necklace and set the necklace and photograph down on the desk. Sitting in her chair she studied the two objects for a while. Just as I thought. This photograph was taken from a dig site in southern South America, the exact location was never documented and the date isn't known but what I can see this necklace must be hundreds of years old. She said, tapping on the wood with her fingernails. Lorrinda, exactly how did you get this necklace?

Lorrinda looked toward Elsa, and then looked toward Mutt who was sitting down looking at her.Oh boy she thought."My mother gave it to me before she died. Her father found it in the Rain Forest,South America in the late 1700s.She said it was some type key.But i've studied that thing alot.I just don't know how it could be a key."She said explaining it."It came with this."She went through her backpack once more. And came out with a much smaller one the size of a quater. It had some strange symbol on it that wasn't in the letter.

ELSA SCHNEIDER ' [ » ] Elsa held the small, quarter sized object to the light. She could see how it could a key, yet how it was used she couldn't exactly say. Elsa reached underneath her desk and placed a large, black wooden box upon her desk. She opened it and browsed through what seemed to be a bunch of papers, she had a old letter in her hand. Shutting the box back she placed it back on the floor and opened up the letter to reveal the contents. It was written in an ancient Aztec dialect, it was similar to Mayan and Elsa was rather skilled in reading it. She read apart of the letter out loud, 'Inside this letter I have hidden a small key. It's not much larger than a quarter, and the last I read I have one of three. People keep asking me about them, they threaten to shoot Brody and myself if I do not figure out the riddle. Perhaps, you can. The key unlocks a book, again, perhaps you can figure that out.' Elsa leaned back in her chair, her boots tapping against the hard wooden floor. So, the necklace and this one of three discovered keys was the guide to some book. So, basically, Jones is saying this necklace of yours and this key is supposed to lead us to a book.
[ » ] Elsa read the worried expression on Mutt's face and returned the necklace and key to Lorrinda, she could keep them safe easier than she could.

MUTT WILLIAMS ' You gotta problem with me? Good. [ » ] Mutt looked up, Elsa's words were starting to make some sense to him. His father had a book in his library, a small one that was filled with drawings and notes. Indiana had told Mutt that it used to be his father's and he used it to store valuable information about rare artifacts and locations. It had a lock on it, and it needed a small key to unlock it. Mutt had always wondered why such a simple looking book would need a key. My dad has this diary in his library, perhaps that's the book he's talking about.

Lorrinda sighed."Does that mean people are going to try and take it.Cause when I was little this people kept trying to brake into our house and try to get the necklace."She asked. She was worried now.She had seen the movies when people get something sacred there is always someone who trys to take it.

ELSA SCHNEIDER ' [ » ] Elsa looked up at Lorrinda and Mutt, she wasn't sure what she was supposed to do next. Well, obviously this book contains something of great value. Your father, Dr. Jones, clearly wants it out of their hands. We've got one, so the location of the second and third key must still be unknown and we have got to keep it that way. The contents of the book could turn lethal in the wrong hands. She said in a hushed voice, she noticed a large crowd was walking down the corridor and Elsa didn't want to risk anyone hearing their secret conversation. Leave it to Indiana to send us a key and expect us to figure this thing out on our own. Hmm, I think I might be able to help you two. She said, she was willing to make an offer. Elsa never did assist people, even on her good days. Yet, a valuable member of the museum board was missing and his disappearance was clearly upsetting to Mutt.
[ » ] She put back the letter back in her drawer and locked it, she didn't want her office raided like Indiana's had been. She realized he taught at the university, and if the diary wasn't the book then she knew just where the real book may be hidden.
